A construction industry professional in Rockwall County, Texas, Charles “Chuck” Scroggs leads C and D Commercial Services, Inc., and Southwest Scaffolding as the companies’ president. Like many others in Rockwall County, Chuck Scroggs follows several Texas sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys.
The NFL has conditionally reinstated Josh Brent’s eligibility to play for the Cowboys this season, but the defensive tackle will not be able join the team on the field until at least week 11. Brent has not played for the Cowboys since 2012, when he was involved in an alcohol-related car accident that killed his friend and teammate Jerry Brown.
For his actions, Brent was convicted of intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to 180 days in jail. He spent the last 45 days of his sentence at an in-patient alcohol and drug treatment facility in Dallas. Since his release, Brent has been working to get back in shape at Michael Johnson Performance in McKinney, Texas.
Under the conditions of his recent reinstatement, Brent will be unable to participate in any of the Cowboys’ activities until week seven of the 2014-15 season. He will be able to join team practices starting in week nine, as long as he follows all court orders related to his probation.
