MCAA Masonry Certification

Charles “Chuck” Scroggs, of Rockwall County, Texas, serves as the president of Southwest Scaffolding, LLC, a business in the Rockwall County city of Rowlett. Chuck Scroggs stays current in the field of masonry through his association with the Masonry Contractors Association of America (MCAA).

One major component of the MCAA’s work is its certification program, which seeks to prevent inferior-quality contractors from damaging the credibility and quality of the masonry industry. Certification also allows customers to make more informed choices about the quality of the products and services they purchase.

To be eligible for certification, a key masonry business leader, such as an owner or CEO, must complete 75 hours of continuing education on topics like ethics and safety. All of the firm’s supervisors must complete at least 15 hours of continuing education activity as well. When all education courses have been completed, the primary individual must sit for a 100-question exam on all continuing education topics.

Texas Rangers Sign Andy Ibanez of Cuba

A resident of Rockwall County, Texas, Charles “Chuck” Scroggs serves as the president of both C and D Commercial Services, Inc., and Southwest Scaffolding, LLC. In addition to his work in and around Rockwall County, Chuck Scroggs enjoys fishing, horseback riding, and cheering on his favorite MLB team, the Texas Rangers.

In a recent press release, the Texas Rangers organization announced that it reached a $1.6 million deal to sign 22-year-old infielder Andy Ibanez of Cuba. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound second baseman was granted free agency in February 2015. However, Ibanez had trouble negotiating a deal due to the timing of his reclassification combined with the regulations surrounding international bonus pools.

For the last three seasons Ibanez has played in Cuba’s top league, where he maintained a .283 batting average and hit 13 home runs. He is a skilled infielder and base runner with the potential to fill up the stat sheet with stolen bases. In signing with the Rangers, Ibanez joins the team’s two other recently-signed international players, Leodys Taveras of the Dominican Republic and Miguel Aparicio of Venezuela.

Dallas Cowboys’ Josh Brent Given Second Chance in NFL

A construction industry professional in Rockwall County, Texas, Charles “Chuck” Scroggs leads C and D Commercial Services, Inc., and Southwest Scaffolding as the companies’ president. Like many others in Rockwall County, Chuck Scroggs follows several Texas sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys.

The NFL has conditionally reinstated Josh Brent’s eligibility to play for the Cowboys this season, but the defensive tackle will not be able join the team on the field until at least week 11. Brent has not played for the Cowboys since 2012, when he was involved in an alcohol-related car accident that killed his friend and teammate Jerry Brown.

For his actions, Brent was convicted of intoxication manslaughter and was sentenced to 180 days in jail. He spent the last 45 days of his sentence at an in-patient alcohol and drug treatment facility in Dallas. Since his release, Brent has been working to get back in shape at Michael Johnson Performance in McKinney, Texas.

Under the conditions of his recent reinstatement, Brent will be unable to participate in any of the Cowboys’ activities until week seven of the 2014-15 season. He will be able to join team practices starting in week nine, as long as he follows all court orders related to his probation.

Tips for Bass Fishing in Texas

Southwest Scaffolding President, Chuck Scroggs, resides in Rockwall County, Texas. In his leisure time, he engages in outdoor activities, such as horseback riding, landscaping, and hunting. In addition, Charles Scroggs enjoys fishing.

Bass fishing is a popular pastime in Texas. The state boasts several bass-rich fishing locations, including Sam Rayburn Reservoir and Toledo Bend. In many cases, Texas waters host bass that weigh in excess of 10 pounds. Not surprisingly, fishermen flock to these locations.

When fishing for bass, fishermen are advised to head out early in the morning. During this time, the water is cool. This encourages increased fish activity in shallow waters. The fisherman who uses lures such as spinnerbaits, topwater baits, and lipless crankbaits will have optimal results casting in the areas near shallow cover. The fisherman who chooses to focus on deep water bass would do well to use deep-water lures such as jigs, plastic worms, deep-diving crankbaits, and Carolina-rigged plastics instead.

The Texas Rangers – Perrenial American League Pennant Contender

A resident of Rockwall, Texas, Chuck Scroggs enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, skiing, and hunting. Chuck Scroggs is also a Major League Baseball fan, who supports the Texas Rangers. Over the past several years, the Rangers have become a perennial contender for the American League pennant. The team played in the World Series in both 2010 and 2011, although it didn’t succeed in winning either series. In 2013, the Rangers had a relatively disappointing year and fell a game short of a wild card berth in the playoffs.

The Rangers have enjoyed a consistent first half of the 2014 season, battling it out with the Oakland A’s for first place. The team benefits from an excellent farm system that continues to produce top-tier prospects. These include Jorge Alfaro, who has been picked as one of the leading players with Major League star potential. In addition to possessing outstanding batting skills, he is an excellent defensive player, who has one of the strongest arms among young catchers. This skill is particularly sought after, as it limits the ability of runners to take leads effectively and steal bases.
